The Purpose of this
book is to provide a detailed description of the Nine different hiking
trails that Scout leaders can use with their units. The purpose of
these hikes is to introduce youth to the rich history in the Boston area.
While these hikes were originally established for the use of the Boy
Scouts, they are open to anyone who likes to hike. Over the years
many different groups have advantage of these trails, including Girl
Scouts, Camp Fire and School groups.
The binding on this book can be removed and the trails separated so that
you can carry just one chapter on the hike with you, if you wish.
The information has been updated, corrected and type chosen to make the
reading easier.
The book also lists local points of interest along each trail, including
Historic buildings, Caves, Swamps, Works of Art, Forts, and Various Hills
& Ponds.
Each trail has a registration form which is required to receive the
trails patch. Also by registering you will be notified of any
changes to the trail*.
All Scouts are encouraged to wear full Scout uniform on any trail they
hike.
